Sony makes UK BD debut
Sony’s first UK standalone BD player will be arrive in the UK this summer. The £900 BDP-S1E isn’t an update of the recent slimline model announced in the US, but is instead an improved version of the first-gen American BDP-S1. Capable of outputting 1080p signals via HDMI and 1080i through component, the system is now capable of CD playback (something the BDP-S1 couldn’t do) in addition to video, MP3 audio and JPEG image playback from DVD, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, and DVD-RW discs.
