While JVC has established a name for itself at the very highest, professional end of the projection market, it has never really broken the domestic scene. One or two projectors using the company’s proprietary D-ILA technology have come our way over the years, but none have made convincing enough arguments with their home cinema performances or prices to really get our attention.
Which is just one of the many factors that makes JVC’s new DLA-HD1 so startling. For as well as being built from the ground up with home users in mind, at considerably under £4k it’s also priced pretty aggressively considering the sort of specification it offers.

30 July 2007 – Another development in the omnipresent Blu-ray versus HD-DVD scrap as Samsung unveils its freethinking, non-conformist BD-UP5000 dual format playing disc doctor.

In line with Pioneer’s latest spinners, it will sport 24p mode meaning films are reproduced at the correct cinematic speed ensuring no motion jitter and perfect audio. 27 July 2007 – ThinkSecret has expanded on those new iPod coming soon rumours with some additional details.
Still suggesting that early August launch date, contrary to reports from other sources (including the company apparently manufacturing the parts) the new iPod is not going to have a touchscreen and will retain the click-wheel design.
In fact, ThinkSecret’s previous shorter, fatter rumour is reiterated. Apple engineers deep in the Cupertino labs (we like to think of them as oompa-loompa-like but maybe all-white) have shaved an inch off the height of the player and give it proportions that resemble – ta da – a BlackBerry!
