Krell Papa Dock Amplifier
Here is the KID’s daddy, the Krell Papa Dock power amplifier has been designed for the KID (Krell Interface Dock) iPod/iPhone dock. It delivers up to 150 watts of power and features a 40,000 microfarad power supply. It also has physically isolated left and right channels, twelve high current output devices and WBT speaker connectors. Papa Dock automatically powers on when an iPod is inserted and powers off when the iPod is removed.
The Krell Papa will set you back around $2,500 which means that when paired with the Krell KID you’re looking at a set-up coasting around a ‘reassuringly expensive’ $4000. [Krell]

Meizu M8
Yesterday, M J. Wong (Meizu’s CEO) showed off this picture of the Meizu M8. We’ve seen plenty of M8 shots before, but this appears to be the real deal. It’s been said that Meizu will be running a closed Alpha program for the phone in China starting in August.
Those are all good signs, but since the M8 was announced, Apple has released two more iterations of the iPhone, the iPod touch and the 3G. Will Meizu ever release the M8, or will it be vaporized? Will anyone care either way? Tell us what you think.[via Meizu Me]

According to some leaked info obtained by epiZENter, Creative is getting ready to release their first Wi-Fi enabled portable media player, the ZEN X-Fi.
In addition to some basic control buttons like play/pause, next, and previous on the face, the X-Fi will have a nine-point directional pad and using it’s built-in Wi-Fi users will be able to IM via Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger using the nine-point directional pad to enter text similar to how cellphones without a full QWERTY keyboard do it.
The Wi-Fi will also allow you to stream media from your home computer from a piece of software you’ll install there called Creative Centrale. Looks like you will NOT, however, be able to buy songs on the go via Wi-Fi hotspots.
There’s also something mentioned called a Public Media Server but it’s not 100% clear just what that is at the moment. Maybe it will give you limited access to media in your Creative Centrale over the Internet by setting up a mini web server? We’ll see when things are officially announced. Continue Reading…

The first “official” photos and specs for the HTC Diamond have now been leaked and it looks pretty sexy. It sports a 2.8-inch 640 x 480 pixel screen (that’s twice the lines of the iPhone in a smaller surface,) Windows Mobile 6.1 and 3G connectivity. Could this be the most important product of the year for HTC? Maybe so.
It seems like a pretty sweet cellphone, judging from the specs:
- Large 2.8 inch VGA display (640×480 pixel resolution),
- Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional,
- Quadband GSM/GPRS/Edge and UMTS/HSDPA,
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0, 3.2megapixel camera with autofocus,
- Extra VGA camera in the front for video telephony,
- QWERTY keyboard,
- Qualcomm 528 Mhz CPU,
- 4 GB of internal memory plus a MicroSD slot,
- FM Radio,
- An accelerometer sensor like the iPhone has.

The right kind of headphones is hard to come by and when you find one, it’s like striking gold. I remember picking up this pair that I thought was perfect but alas, the earbuds kept falling out of my ear and it ended up as dead investment. However the story is about to change with these really neat pair of headphones from JVC.
Reminiscent of the fold-up Sony headphones, this high-end pair belongs to the Bi-Metal line of in-ear canal headphones. The good news is that they are iPhone compatible and will be available by this month for $79.99. To fully understand the term Bi-Metal, refer to the press release after the jump. Continue Reading…

Everyone’s talking about China these days. The impact of the world’s fastest ever growing economy on the western world is huge – and it now extends to the world of iPod docks, in the form of the BooM China system from TwinMOS.
And yes, that thing that looks like a vase is actually a subwoofer…
The BooM China has been designed in collaboration with a traditional Chinese artist, and is released to coincide with the Chinese new year – as well as to celebrate China hosting the 2008 Olympic games.
