Black is the new… err black. Like many consumer electronics manufacturers, hi-fi specialist Astin Trew has noticed a pickup in demand for its products in black rather than silver finishes. So the first to get the new all-black treatment is the AT 3500 CD player, to be followed later this summer by the company’s new AT2000 integrated amplifier and the cheaper AT3000 CD player. The entire product range will be available in silver and black by the end of this year.
“We have become aware over the past year of an increasing demand fro a black fascia option. It seems we’re going back to black as a product style trend,” says Michael Osborn, managing director of Astin Trew.

Artcoustic, the world leader in modern and contemporary wall mounted high-end speaker systems, have expanded their product line with the introduction of the new Diablo Sub Panel Subwoofer that establishes a new benchmark in performance and design. This compact and beautifully designed new model is a creation of Mr. Kim Donvig and performs like a professional subwoofer, delivering exceptionally powerful and dynamic output.

The Diablo Sub Panel is a passive design and uses the new Artcoustic PA-1800. This is a big upgrade on the older version and features 3 channels of amplification. 1×900 watts and 2×450 watts. The passive sub offers fantastic flexibility in installations as only speaker cable is required to run to the subwoofer. No mains power is needed to the enclosure. This enables the subwoofer to be placed where it looks and sounds its best , rather than near a power outlet. Because the Diablo is so flexible in it’s positioning, this also makes for a simpler and cleaner installation. The Diablo can be positioned easily and discreetly eliminating obtrusive cable displays thereby avoiding the new regulations that require main outlets to be positioned higher than previously and resulting in unattractive power line displays.
