Onkyo ships some powerful AVRs

Allan Ford August 17, 2007

18 August 2007 – As we reported some time ago, Onkyo has been hard at work creating some really excellent A/V receivers.

Well, 15 08. Onkyo has started shipping these new high-quality AVRs. These 4 new offerings boast a wide range of features that further solidifies Onkyo’s place as a high-quality manufacturer.

These models, ranging from the cost-effective $900 TX-SR705 to the high-end $2,100 TX-NR905, have all attained the highly-prized THX certification.

All these models also include DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD support for lossless audio transfers and are XM/Sirius capable as well.

A couple of the biggest inclusions in these new offerings are the use of HDMI 1.3a slots and the Audyssey autocalibration system. Specs after the break. The Audyssey Multi-EQ room acoustics correction is the most precise built-in correction solution available to counter room distortion and is an excellent inclusion by Onkyo.

The two pricier models in this offering, the TX-SR875 and the TX-NR905, will also receive top honors as the first AVRs to include the superb Silicon Optix Reon-VX HQV video processor.

Suffice it to say, these new AVRs represent an incredibly powerful offering. Read below for the full list of specs.
