London Sound & Vision Show 2007

Allan Ford September 18, 2007

18.lsav07.jpgIt’s September so it must be time for the Heathrow Show. But this staple of the hi-fi calendar since Hi-Fi News, promoters of the show for over 20 years, has now bowed out. In its place will be the London Sound & Vision Show at the Park Inn Hotel from Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd September, with Saturday and Sunday open to the public. The new show, which debuted last year, will be across the road from the older show’s headquarters at the Renaissance Hotel.

The show promises to be about 80 per cent hi-fi, though there are signs of an increasing emphasis on AV, with Pioneer and projector specialists SIM2 among others amidst the 71 exhibitors showing off their latest wares.

Show promoter Roy Bird said: “These smaller shows are really quite unique and cater to a precise part of the consumer market. They only survive because enough people give their time and expertise to make them happen and they deserve our support. It’s not about gimmicks or razzmatazz, but it is a chance for people to see the experts, ask advice and witness some quality demos by over 300 brands.” Top hi-fi names at the event include Creek, Pro-Ject, Fatman, Roksan, Chord, Audio Analogue, Triangle, Naim, Krell, Martin-Logan, Sonus Faber, Pure, the Funk Firm and many more. Entrance is £10 on the day, though there are concessions available.

The Renaissance Hotel across the road won’t be empty however, with high-end distributor Audiofreaks taking a couple of rooms to show off some of its wares from the likes of Conrad-Johnson, Avalon Acoustics and Magnum Dynalab on the same days, admission free.

What’s more we’ve got twenty pairs of tickets to the show to give away, click here for more details.
