Dolby Showcases Its CP650DC Audio Processor for Digital Cinema at ShowEast 2007

Allan Ford October 15, 2007

16.dolby-logo.gifAt ShowEast today, Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) is showcasing its latest version of the Dolby(R) CP650 audio processor designed exclusively for digital cinema applications. The Dolby CP650DC supports the popular operational features, reliability, and renowned quality of the Dolby CP650 with functionality created specifically for digital cinema presentations.

"As the exhibition industry embraces digital cinema, Dolby continues to be on the forefront of innovation by providing products that streamline operations for exhibitors and deliver the best entertainment experience to consumers," said Tim Partridge, Executive Vice President, Products and Technology, Dolby Laboratories. "The introduction of the CP650DC demonstrates our leadership in the digital cinema market by bringing superior audio technology to exhibitors."

Designed specifically for digital cinema installations, the Dolby CP650DC configuration allows replay between conventional digital cinema multichannel 5.1 or 6.1 (Dolby Digital Surround EX(TM)) soundtracks, along with Dolby Digital bitstream decoding. In addition, the new model of the CP650 product line provides global audio delay for correct synchronization and the option of internal active crossovers for either two-way or three-way main outputs for optimum dynamic range. The Dolby CP650DC connects directly to the digital audio output of a Dolby Show Player or any digital cinema server.

The Dolby CP650DC is being demonstrated at the ShowEast 2007 convention at the Orlando World Center Marriott in booth 900.
