Display maker NEC has come up with an interesting new display technology to ensure a more private viewing experience.
With this technology, the typical 140 degree viewing angle of an HDTV can be reduced to a miniscule 30 degree viewing angle.
This ensures that unless you are sitting almost directly in line with the screen, you will see nothing.
Others have come up with similar technology, but NEC is the first to claim absolutely zero image quality reduction with the reduced viewing angle.
This has a whole wealth of practical applications in the real world as well, most notably in the realm of laptop privacy. NEC says that these units should be finished sometime next year. There is no word on the pricing for these types of displays either.
