The Worlds Only Fully Invisible Subwoofer

Allan Ford October 29, 2007

29.stealth-b1630-1.jpgThe Stealth Acoustics B1630 invisible subwoofer speaker system is a unique solution for producing solid sub and low frequencies into a listening space, without the presence of boxes or grills. Form factored to seamlessly match with either ½” or 5/8” wallboard and to fit into standard 2”x4” stud walls or ceilings, the B1630 system contains two flush-mounting, flat-front panels, each measuring 16"W x 30"H x 3.25”D that mount directly to the structural framing of the wall or ceiling, replacing a section of drywall.

Each B1630 panel employs (2) conventional high-power 8" woofers mounted on a 1" thick baffle board, bonded to the back of a rigid mounting frame with a foam-core-based radiating flat-panel surface bonded on the opposite side, forming an airtight chamber. The woofers fire into this chamber activating the entire face of the panel with the exception of the 1-3/4" compliance border which remains completely stable to eliminate any potential for cracking of finishing materials. Each B1630 panel has an active surface area of approximately 331 Square inches, which is 3 times the piston area of the drivers, allowing for large wave form development. When coupled with the Stealth 255R subwoofer amplifier / processor, low frequency response down to 30Hz can be achieved in a standard stud wall. A simple rear-panel jumper allows each panel to operate at either 16 ohms or 4 ohms.

During installation, drywall is abutted to the panel frame to create a seamless, non-vibrating transition between the B1630 and the adjoining wallboard. Similar in construction to other Stealth speaker systems, the B1630 has a high-quality flat surface on the face of the panel that is designed to be painted with latex based products right along with the rest of the wall. Light texture or wallpaper can also be applied. No
special mud or processes are required to finish the speaker surface.

Stealth Acoustics speaker invisibility allows for powerful advantages over other loudspeakers as they can be placed wherever they sound best, free of visual concerns that may conflict with architectural features. Manufacturers suggested MAP is $560.00. Stealth Acoustics is distributed by our directly franchised value added resellers, custom installers and distributors.
