Revo releases Blik Wi-Fi radio

Allan Ford November 21, 2007

British radio maker Revo has released a new device, the Blik. Though able to function as a normal FM radio or alarm clock, the Blik’s key advantage is its Wi-Fi, which has listings for over 6,000 continually-updated Internet stations, as well as various "listen again" services such as those operated by the BBC. Should Internet options not be appealing, users can stream MP3 and WMA audio from their Mac or PC, or plug in an iPod for more direct playback. The Blik is selling in the UK for £100 ($205).

Words from Revo:

Slick modern industrial design, class leading audio performance and functionality… BLIK Wi-Fi has it all. A product that breaks with conventional thinking and pushes the boundaries of what is expected from an entry price internet radio.

A World Of Choice
BLIK WI-FI is capable of accessing thousands of internet radio stations from all over the world, giving the user an unprecedented choice of radio content. Whether listening to samba from Brazil’s Radio Caraibas, New Orleans Jazz from WWOZ or even live baseball from New York on WFAN 660.

No Rules, No Frontiers
With internet radio there are no signal reception problems, no subscription charges and no international boundaries.

Connect, Select… and Listen
BLIK Wi-Fi links to any broadband Wi-Fi connection to stream both live and “Listen Again" internet radio broadcasts. Stations are listed alphabetically by country or music type, making selection simple. Additionally, BLIK Wi-Fi allows
you to play music files stored on any Wi-Fi enabled PC or Apple Mac in your home.

FM Radio
For fans of traditional FM radio, BLIK features an FM tuner.

Media Player
BLIK Wi-Fi also offers full media player functionality, enabling the user to listen to audio tracks stored on PCs or Apple Macs connected to the same local Wi-Fi network.

Simplicity
Using BLIK Wi-Fi couldn’t be simpler, with no complicated set-up operations and no software to load.

Wi-Fi Connection
BLIK Wi-Fi automatically connects to your existing Wi-Fi network and uses your broadband connection to access the Reciva Internet Radio Gateway. The Gateway then uploads the very latest station listings automatically leaving the user to simply select a station by country or genre… and enjoy some great music.

Station List
There are currently more than 6,000 stations listed on the Reciva Gateway, with more added every day. Reciva monitor and review the station list on a daily basis meaning that BLIK Wi-Fi will always have the latest stations. Every time you switched off and back on again, it will automatically download the latest station list.
