JBL ES Series Speakers

Allan Ford March 28, 2008

 ES80

JBL
has announced that their new ES series speakers are now shipping. The ES range consists of the JBL ES10 surround speaker, the JBL ES20 and JBL ES30 monitors, the JBL ES80 and JBL ES90 floorstanders, the JBL ES25C center channel, and the ES150P and ES250P subwoofers.

All ES models feature new cabinet designs with tapered walls to reduce the buildup of standing waves and front baffles that curve into the top surface. The woofers and midrange drivers used in the ES subwoofers and main speakers are made from JBL’s “PolyPlas” material for smoother frequency response, faster transients, and lower distortion. The ES main speakers also utilize titanium-laminate tweeters and super tweeters mounted in proprietary “Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal” (EOS) waveguides for wide high frequency dispersion and response up to 40kHz.

The ES models are available in charcoal finishes with black or cherry accents, and are priced from $329 to $1,198 per pair.
