Syntax-Brillian’s Olevia 747i LCD TV Named Best TV in Wired’s Test Issue

Allan Ford October 29, 2007

Syntax-Brillian Corporation (Nasdaq:BRLC) today announced that Wired Magazine has listed the Olevia 747i LCD HDTV as the best TV in the 38- to 49-inch category as published in the Winter 2008 Test issue.

The award-winning 47-inch 1080p Olevia(TM) 747i LCD HDTV received Wired’s "Best of Test" distinction over other LCD and plasma TVs from Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba, Polaroid, Philips, Westinghouse and Vizio. According to the reviewer, "It’s smarter, with a killer video-processing chip that helped it ace all our tests, syncing up and smoothing out the noisiest screwball video we threw its way." Receiving the highest rating of nine out of ten, the Olevia 747i also received high marks from Wired for its upscale aesthetics, high-quality removable speakers, its myriad of picture, audio and set-up controls, and programmable remote.

"This recognition by Wired further demonstrates the Olevia brand’s excellence in technology innovation, superior quality and performance, and Syntax-Brillian’s commitment to offer global consumers tier-one HDTVs at competitive prices and full service warranty support," said James Li, President and Chief Executive Officer, Syntax-Brillian.

"We designed the Olevia 747i with professional grade video processing plus leading-edge feature enhancements to create an HDTV with stunning picture quality, powerful performance, and elegant design for the ultimate home theater experience," said Sam Miller, Chief Products Officer, Syntax-Brillian.

The elegantly-designed Olevia 747i features the industry-leading Silicon Optix Realta(R) Hollywood Quality Video (HQV(TM)) video processor for unprecedented image clarity, detail sharpness and the truest color reproduction (6500K calibrated). Other high performance features include a full complement of inputs (2 HDMI, 3 component, 2 S-Video, 2 composite and 1 VGA), Clear QAM for displaying Full HD unencrypted digital cable from standard cable service, dual ATSC/NTSC tuners, firmware upgradeable via USB, and RS232 control for connecting to a home entertainment system. The Olevia 747i can be used as a high quality 1920 x 1080 computer monitor or presentation display through HDMI and VGA.

Priced at $2,499 (MSRP), the Olevia 747i is available at Target.com and from other specialty retailers.
