Hottest Developments in Audio Strike a Chord at the 2008 International CES

Allan Ford October 10, 2007

The latest technologies and products in audio will sound off at the 2008 International CES(R), including home theater audio systems, digital music, satellite radio tuners and audio networking solutions, and the latest in the high-performance audio category. Produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA(R)), the 2008 International CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, returns to Las Vegas, January 7-10.

10.logo_cea.gif"The 2008 International CES is the one-stop destination for the latest developments across the audio market. Attendees can experience the world’s largest display of high-performance audio at The Venetian, as well as audio content technologies coming to market," said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, events and conferences, CEA. "With key audio exhibitors, audio-specific conference sessions and TechZones, the International CES is the must-attend global event for the hottest products and trends in the audio industry."

Some of the major high-performance audio companies exhibiting at The Venetian include Paradigm, Sumiko and Thiel Audio. Other key audio exhibitors at the 2008 International CES include Bose, Denon, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer, Sony and Yamaha. For a complete list of audio exhibitors, visit the CES Exhibitor Directory at http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/directory/default.asp.

This year’s International CES will house more than 175 conference sessions, including many focused on audio.

Conference sessions with a focus on audio include:

— The High-End Audio Demo in an iPod World: learn how to demonstrate how high-end audio is better than digitally compressed music and see how retailers and audio vendors are reinventing the demo to illustrate that bigger is better.

— Audio & Speech Technology for Consumer Electronics: learn about the basics, technical challenges and applications in audio.

The 2008 International CES will feature more than 20 TechZones focused on emerging developments and ground-breaking achievements, including those in the audio product category. There will be several market-specific TechZones, including The Download and TechHome. The HANA Alliance TechZone will showcase the first cross-industry collaboration to address the end-to-end needs of connected, high-definition, home entertainment products and services.
