Finnish audio and style aficionados, Penaudio, have introduced the flagship of their Ambient series called the Chronos. The Chronos is a 3-way tower system with tweeter and midrange placed high in the cabinet, while the subwoofer is mounted in the side. The tweeter is a 20mm soft dome, which was custom made by Seas of Norway. The mid-range driver is a Vifa polypropylene treated paper cone.
While the subwoofer, also custom made by Seas, features a long throw 8" woofer with a four layer voice coil. The cabinet is constructed of 3/4" MDF and is damped with rubber foam and cotton wool. This combination of drivers and enclosure design allows the Chronos to achieve a frequency range of 34-28,000 Hz at +/-3dB. Meaning the Chronos can rock your socks off while looking damn good too. The high fashion and sound quality will cost you though, about $8,550 in this case.
